Novena to Our Lady of Fatima - Day 1
Opening Prayer
"O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly come before you with a contrite heart. I place myself under your maternal protection and entrust myself to your intercession. Accept this novena as a sign of my devotion and my desire to grow closer to your Son, Jesus Christ."
Main Novena Prayer
"O Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, we come to you today with hearts full of hope. We ask for your intercession in our needs and the needs of the world. Help us to understand the message of Fatima and to live it in our daily lives. Guide us to peace, conversion, and holiness. Amen."
Reflection
On this first day of the novena, we reflect on the importance of surrender to God's will. Just as Mary said "yes" to God's plan at the Annunciation, we too are called to surrender our lives completely to God. This surrender is not a loss of freedom, but rather the greatest freedom—the freedom to become who God created us to be.
Closing Prayer
"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen."
